About Me
Through the beech, sassafras, maple, and oak forests the rolling hills of Michigan are forever imprinted on me. They quietly dance on the landscape until the meet the Great Lakes, one of which has provided me the depth and clarity on many issues; the dramatic waves of November visit my thoughts frequently. Between the dunes the frogs croak, snakes bask. The birdsong echoes.
Moving from the shores of Lake Michigan to Ann Arbor, I completed a B.S. in Earth and Environmental Science and graduated from the Honors College at the University of Michigan. From there, I moved to NYC to pursue a Ph.D. in Comparative Biology from the American Museum of Natural History.
Currently, I live in Brooklyn with my partner and our cat. In my free time I read and write, as well as trying to get out of the city and into nature as much as possible.
